Célébrant le bicentenaire des relations diplomatiques entre les deux pays, la Saison France-Brésil 2025 met successivement à l’honneur le Brésil en France (d’avril à septembre), puis la France au Brésil (d’août à décembre).
Dans ce cadre, le FIFAC a été invité du 23 au 27 août aux Rencontres de Belém – Cinéma Amazonie-Caraïbes. Celles-ci ont réuni à Belém producteur.rice.s, réalisateur.rice.s et institutions de Guyane, des Antilles et du Brésil autour de projections, débats et rencontres professionnelles. Un moment fort de dialogue et de coopération culturelle entre l’Amazonie, les Caraïbes et la France.
Cette relation privilégiée entre le Brésil et la France trouvera un écho au FIFAC avec trois films en provenance de ce grand pays d’Amérique Latine (Da Silva da Selva d’Anderson Mendes, De la guerre froide à la guerre verte I Anna Recalde Miranda, La Chute du Ciel d’Eryk Rocha et Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha, Sukande Kasáká de Kamikia Kisedje et Fred Rahal)
